Overview

Attorney General Peter Neronha sued Kalshi and Polymarket (May 2026) for unlawfully conducting sports wagering; the state suit against Kalshi was removed to federal court as State of Rhode Island v. KalshiEX LLC (D.R.I. No. 1:26-cv-00333). Hours before, Kalshi had filed its own federal preemption suit, KalshiEx LLC v. Furcolo (D.R.I. No. 1:26-cv-00327), and the CFTC moved to intervene in that Kalshi action about a week later. All tracks are pending before Chief Judge McElroy. (Caption + docket confirmed via CourtListener.)
